More details:

– 1/9/2019 Week 1 | SMART Change: a Framework for Achieving Goals with Jessica Nickels, LPC, CPT of Resolve Counseling and Wellness: Change is hard, but is achievable when you set yourself up for success. We start the series off learning a framework that will guide our actions over the next month. Jessica, both a therapist and personal trainer, knows how to help people achieve their goals. She will be leading us through a SMART goals exercise that will set us up for results.

– 1/16/2019 Week 2 | Nutrition 101: What are the basics? with Cara Harbstreet, RD of Streetsmart Nutrition: Nutrition is a tough subject, but we’re here to break it down into its most basic parts. From the biochemistry of fuel to nutrition labels, we’ll talk about some nutrition basics and fight back against common misconceptions out there.

– 1/23/2019 Week 3 | Intuitive Eating and the Answer to Diet Culture with Cara Harbstreet, RD of Streetsmart Nutrition: This week we pivot to talk about why the diet culture may be leading to opposite outcomes and how we can reclaim a calm, reasoned approach to eating for a lifetime of wellness.

– 1/30/2019 Week 5 | Physical Wellness 101 Jess Cummings, DPT and Tim Cummings, DPT of Restore/Thrive PT: Movement is the key to a long, healthy life, and exercise has been shown to help all sorts of maladies from high blood pressure to depression. In this week’s class we offer insight into how anyone — from beginner to seasoned athlete — can better focus on their movement goals.

– 2/6/2019 Week 4 | Stress and Anxiety in the Modern World with Robin Helget LSCSW, CPT, Millennial Therapist at Resolve Counseling and Wellness: Reviewing how media, comparison, perfectionism, busyness, and expectations are impacting our mental and physical health, we use this class to explore how we are modernly seeking connection but it is creating disconnection.

– 2/13/2019 Week 6 | Envisioning your future self with Allison Edwards, MD of Kansas City Direct Primary Care: In this final session, we take time to reflect as a group on the previous weeks and workshop how we may each set realistic and attainable goals that move each of us towards a healthier lifestyle for good.

Space is limited to 25.  Current KCDPC members who attend each session in full will receive a full refund of their class fee.  (Yes: that means the series is potentially free for our patients!)

What are you waiting for? Enroll in the series and make those changes — for good — this year!
